a dark smoke filled smelling shed.

It is the 14th day of April and I really wanted to start my sofobomo project today. Time seems to just slip by without any real photographic output, yes I have a few more prints on my walls from recent short spaces in time when I've been able to squeeze a few shots in. The picture with this post is one of those, it was taken while playing hide-and-seek with the children. It is these small spaces in time that get filled with photography, the short spaces between other events (like hiding and being found).

If sofobomo has done one thing for me, at this stage it would be that it has shown me that my photography seems to have taken a back seat to work (and will always be backseat to the children).

This is something that needs serious addressing, less working hours anyone?

Robertthe shed is beside a fireplace that is used to heat a large drum of water. The heated drum of water is used to heat the bottles of home made tomato sauce. The smoke from that fire gets trapped in the shed which has a low ceiling. Everything in that shed is smoke blackened.

IrenaHome made tomato sauce...yum!
Robert, in this picture, are there any details in the dark area around the light globe?, because I cannot see much. Maybe my monitor need calibrating again.

PaulI made the decision to work much less and photograph more. I quit my job, took some time off, then went and got another job that was much less stringent on the number of hours needed. Now, I have lots of time to take pictures, a fairly stress-free job, and lots of time for my son too. If you can, make the switch. You won't be sorry.

A job/career is simply a way for me to make money to do the things that I like to do. It's not my way of life!

RobertIrena,
there are some details in the shadows, I left them very dark because that is how it was in there. The print shows the corrugations of the roofing material and also beams.

RobertA wise decision Paul and one I am trying to work out. Working for myself makes it hard, it is a roller coaster ride, sometimes plenty of work on, other times plenty of paper work to catch up on.

My work is mostly at home which keeps me close to my family and means I do not have to drive much, that I am thankful for. It's my hours and rates that need changing.
