The Grevillia is flowering and we have these chattering chaps in our backyard daily having a feed.

  1. In a few weeks our flowing fruit tree will have these guys visiting and it's nice to have someone I can turn to for help if I need it. Great details on the Lorikeet, even down to it's little feet. Nice pose as well, you'll have to tell me your secret to that one ;-).

  2. Nicely isolated from the background.

  3. Ah, memories of squadrons of these flying past the balcony in Sydney. Noisy as well as colourful. I can't fault the presentation here, although I always feel that static shots of birds miss something of their essence.

  4. a good point Colin, this one could almost be a stuffed sample with some studio lighting. The chap was squawking at me quite loudly, not sure if it was a warning or not but being within about 3 meters of him/her I guess it night of been.
I'll try and capture something with some character in it instead of a dead portrait style.
