More wind

Filed under: All Pictures — Kjell @ 07:45:52 am

This was the shot that got me started on this project last summer. Between this and the one in my previous post, there is loads of pictures, and very few that are worth showing, if any. I think I will have to go on for a while before I get enough to assemble a series.

  1. Kjell,

I liked Wind Through the Leaves better, possibly because there is a little more structure to fix your eyes on. Some thoughts at Doonster about a similar series (wind)...

  2. Does this comment system allow you to leave hyperlinks? It stripped them out of my last comment...

  3. There are quite a few shots between this and the one in my previous post. I have had this one hanging in my office for almost a year, and while it got me started, I have changed focus quite a bit since then. I decided to try to move closer. Easier to control what falls in the frame that way.

Regarding Martins attempts, I still think he is experimenting to find the right technique. Interesting idea to do that blending, but I don't think I will pursuit that one myself. I have invested quite some time on my way of doing it, and I think the results will be different enough, so I will continue my own path. It will however be very interesting to compare our results when we both get more experience and results.

  4. I feel a flow from right to left here and no where to rest on the way through. But then that is relentless wind isn't it, I get the feeling of constant wind here, unrest. If that is what was meant to be conveyed then I feel it, interesting to see the others in the series to get a full feeling of the project.

links should be allowed Eric, I will email you later.

  5. I see little cotton balls waving in the wind.
I like what you've done here with the blue sky background and it seems to peep through towards the bottom. Your decision to get in close is good, but there could be a problem with images being the same colour eg. green with green background like the previous one. I guess it depends on what you photograph. For me this one stands out more, maybe I'm just a colour person...LOL.

  6. Some of the leaf blur is great but I'm finding that the lack of a sharp detail and the apparent importance of the blue green boundary mean that I don't want to linger. Possibly as a print that I could hold and concentrate on details rather than the overall effect I would get more out of it.

  7. I have a vague feeling that the reason I feel this one isn't quite as strong as the other is that this one has, perhaps, not quite enough that's not motion blurred - really just the thin lines of the branches.

Somehow, for me, the sense of motion is tied up with the contrast between the parts in motion and the parts that are still.
